Cabbage Patch Kids

If you are interested in starting your own family of Cabbage Patch Kids, you should know there are two distinct types available for adoption in 2003,  Original Cabbage Patch Kids and Cabbage Patch Kid Toys.  Since 1982 both the Originals and the Toys have been called Cabbage Patch Kids.  In 1978 a young artist named Xavier Roberts began creating needle molded fabric sculptures he called Little People.  Now, more than 20 years later, these Original Cabbage Patch Kids are still being hand-stitched to birth, one at a time, in Xavier’s hometown of Cleveland, Georgia.  The other type of Cabbage Patch Kid is a licensed Toy replica of the Original.  These Cabbage Patch Kid Toys have been widely available to the public since 1983.  All Cabbage Patch Kids are extremely lovable but here are a few  differences to help you distinguish between the Originals and the Toys.

FAST FACTS:

Each original is individually hand stitched to birth including the face.

All toys have a molded vinyl face and either fabric or vinyl body.
